Designs in Wine
I have been interested in art most of my life. This past January on a snowy night at home I got out my watercolors and drinking a glass of wine and thought instead of watercolor let's paint with wine. I dipped my brush in my wine glass and to my surprise, the wine took to the watercolor paper great. I have been painting with Wine as my medium ever since.
I have been blessed with the ability to draw any image in front of me. With wine, you will get a different look because it is painting in the negative. I first do a light pencil sketch of my subject then I apply the wine - painting in the negative - then I go back in with pen and ink to bring highlights. Also, I pour wine out of the bottle and let it sit out to get more of a richer color. Another technique I have used is to boil the wine to make it thicker.
